Panel discussion: possibilities of the public

With Kasper König and Carina Plath, members of the curatorial team of the Skulptur Projekte Münster 07, Guy Ben-Ner and Silke Wagner, participating artists, as well as Sabeth Buchmann, Professor of the Academy of Arts, Vienna

Moderation: Markus Müller.

In summer 2007 - for the fourth time and curated by Brigitte Franzen, Carina Plath and Kasper König - the Skulptur Projekte Münster 07 will take place. Since 1977, this international exhibition has been inviting artists from all over the world every ten years to redefine the relationship between art and the public. A course of location-specific installations and sculptures makes the city of Münster a new experience. For the project next year, Michael Elmgreen and Ingar Dragset, Hans-Peter Feldmann, Isa Genzken, Mike Kelley and Rosemarie Trockel confirmed.

Beforehand, the curators, together with some artists of the project, are discussing the central questions: What possibilities do artists have to create public (s) today? What is the future of public space - in the tension between neglect and confiscation? And what public forms of participation are shaping the social project "art" today?
