What's going on? Human rights in conversation

Panel discussion with Roger Willemsen, Ulrich Mühe, Kathrin Röggla and Florian Schneider

On May 25, Amnesty International will be presenting the 2005 annual report to the press. We would like to take this as an opportunity to let committed artists and cultural workers talk about their work, their self-consciousness and their visions. How do political developments in culture and society develop at the moment? What about the human rights culture in Germany? The AI annual report provides information on the human rights situation around the world. In the past year, countless people have come to know how state authorities were pushing for basic rights and kicked them with their feet. In the name of the so-called "fight against terror", lawmakers increasingly deliberately and systematically violate international human rights treaties. The public protest remains modest.
