Accessibility
Welcome to KW Institute for Contemporary Art!
KW is located in a former margarine factory in Auguststraße, Berlin-Mitte. The building, which is designed as a four-sided courtyard, is protected as a historic monument and therefore only partially accessible for visitors with limited mobility. The exhibitions are accessible via a goods lift. However, the lift cannot be operated independently for legal reasons. Our staff will assist you with this.
We would like to make the visit as smooth and barrier-free as possible for all visitors. To plan your visit with us, please write an email a week in advance to your visit to: mediation@kw-berlin.de or contact our staff via telephone: +49 30 243459-132.
Spontaneous visits are also possible, but we must ask you to expect waiting times of up to 30 minutes in this case.
You are welcome to take a seat in Café Bravo or in the inner courtyard, where seating is available.
