We are used to having architectural projects sorted in print according to type, or size. In her books, however, architect Oda Pälmke organizes houses by quality: "good", "bad", "ugly" or just "quite good". With an eye for the essential as well as the bizarre, she discovers "personality" and "types" in everyday architecture. Her books become a guide to seeing, posing questions on the conditions of production and the architect's role. How are these insights incorporated into her own work?
