The Artists’ Film and Video Association (afava) is a group of artists and filmmakers that was founded in 2008 by Yael Bartana, Guy Ben-Ner, Köken Ergun, Laura Horelli, Norman Richter, Hito Steyerl, Maya Schweizer, and Clemens von Wedemeyer. They aim to create a platform for discussions, to distribute films and videos, and to highlight the processes and contexts from which the films have evolved. They are interested in works, which document, analyze, or attempt to change conditions in society.
