“I want to draw my own breath.” – Christoph Schlingensief.

In August 2010, Christoph Schlingensief passed away but his work as director for film, theater and opera, as actor, author, visual artist, TV entertainer and political activist remains unforgotten. From the very beginning, Schlingensief commented on his innumerable projects in interviews and conversations and always regarded the discussion about his work as an essential part of his manifold activities. From these conversations, Christoph Schlingensief’s wife and colleague Aino Laberenz compiled a selection which immediately brings his unique understanding of artistic work and the most important stages of his artist biography to life again: the films, his theater practice, the founding of his party Chance 2000, his Wagner productions in Bayreuth, his container action Ausländer raus in Vienna, the Kirche der Angst, and his Operndorf Afrika.
