Progressive models in family and institutional care work can hardly be maintained due to the current exceptional situation caused by the corona pandemic. All of a sudden, the traditional nuclear family—with its stereotyped role models—is being given a monstrous significance. At the same time, the simultaneous tasks at home are the real crisis for many people: taking care of everyone and everything at the same time, without involving solidarity structures such as grandparents, babysitters or friends, working “effectively” in the home office while you and the children articulate completely different needs than being at home. Those who have not thought much of self-optimization in the past now wish they had done a few exercises.

For the first time, B*tches & Babies takes place as a live video chat to share personal experiences in the current crisis and to create temporary works of art in your homes using instructional art. All flat mates are welcome!

B*tches and Babies is aimed at all people who have children, want to have children, decide against having children, or are discriminated against due to their desire to have children. The exhibition The Making of Husbands: Christina Ramberg in Dialogue served as a prelude to regularly organized meetings on questions of maternity*, care work and new parenting to steer them into productive spaces for action.

The *gender star points to the diversity of gender identities that need to be included in a new definition of terminology.
