As part of KW’s mediation programming, Kerri Fitzsimons will hold a movement workshop to experience the cathartic and physical effects of sound through the body. What happens to the body when we practice embodied listening? Can we exist in this fluid space of both introspection and extrospection to find a collective listening?

The workshop is held inside Antechamber, the installation by Jessica Ekomane, who has investigated the transformative force of sound through a multichannel installation in the attic of KW.

The workshop is open to all abilities—no prior experience is required. Wear comfortable, movement-friendly clothing and shoes.

Kerri Fitzsimons is a Berlin-based performance artist, educator and yoga teacher. She believes that through friendly mediation which prioritises personal interpretation, we can challenge exclusivity in the arts and offer accessible creative spaces. Her performance work is grounded in story, using narrative to create pieces that are at once aesthetically surprising and approachable through storytelling.
