EN: Urban Futurism: Converging Spaces and Power Dynamics
This focus tour will investigate how Luiz Roque reimagines urban landscapes as sites where historical tensions, futuristic visions, and socio-political forces converge. The tour will examine his portrayal of cities as dynamic spaces where the interplay between freedom and control , as well as public and private spheres, reflects broader struggles over power and identity. We will discuss how Roque merges modernist architecture with the interplay between dystopian and utopian elements, freedom and control, public and private spheres, creating a visual dialogue that challenges traditional views of the depicted environments. Additionally, the tour will analyze how Roque’s aesthetic in films intersects with his ceramic works.
