Workshop as part of the exhibition Poetics of Encryption

After a short guided tour of selected artworks, we will discuss important core narratives of the exhibition Poetics of Encryption. We will focus on the influence of digital media and spaces on community and society. How can these abstract and complex levels be depicted, organized and negotiated?
Topics include communication networks, the digital self, social media, data privacy, meme culture, cloud computing, transparency, extractivism, etc. The symbolism and narrative styles of selected artists will become the starting point for participants to translate their own perspective creatively and develop their own ‚Poetics of Encryptions‘. Collections, mappings, collages and keyword collections will be created and arranged into information graphics, flags and short texts.

Expertise or previous knowledge is not necessary, creative interest and curiosity are sufficient.
