Foreigners Out! Schlingensief's Container

For one week, in the middle of Vienna's tourist centre, Christoph Schlingensief realized a vision of fear: A deportation container for asylum seekers, interactively influenceable, permanently exposed to racist speeches by the FPÖ-figurehead Jörg Haider, and pasted up with his xenophobic election posters. Thousands of passerbys were provoked on site and so became participants in Schlingensief's staging. A sham play, which deals with "the new Europe" and the "black EU-sheep" Austria in particular.
