KW Institute for Contemporary Art invited writer Kevin McGarry to introduce films by Ryan Trecartin and his long-term artistic partner Lizzie Fitch. McGarry's working relationship with Trecartin dates back to 2005 as his work was first being shown, then in a curatorial capacity, and later as a collaborator who has appeared in the films and written about the work extensively.

The evening starts with an introduction and a screening of Junior War, produced in 2013 using footage Ryan Trecartin took during his senior year at high school. Afterwards, McGarry talks about Site Visit(2014), currently on view at KW followed by a rare screening of the work in which all six channels are shown in a single projection.

Kevin McGarry is a writer and critic based in Los Angeles. He contributes to many magazines, art journals, and catalogues and has co-organized the Migration Forms film festival with Nellie Killian, now at BAMcinématek in Brooklyn, since 2008.

The event will be held in English.
