This performance piece interrogates current societal tensions in Berlin, abstracting themes of authority, media influence, and civil unrest. The artist, embodying a police officer, oscillates between menacing and darkly comic states, exploring the physicality of power and the aesthetics of control.
Drawing from research into villainous archetypes, the work deconstructs notions of evil and fascist fetishism. It shifts between theatrical spectacle and contemplative discourse, inviting audience participation in visualizing alternative realities.
By juxtaposing provocative embodiment with moments of reflection, Wakey Wakey Sleeping Beauty challenges viewers to critically examine the intersection of art, entertainment, and social commentary in contemporary fine art contexts.
