Sound for Art Spaces

Please note: the seating for this event is limited.

After seven months of programming a guest program of audio-visual performances at KW Institute for Contemporary Art, FEED organizes a talk reflecting on the future and development of such collaborations. It discusses the middle spaces where new audio-visual work and experimental sound can have a place.

Berlin's powerful club scene often has sound artists performing in DJ spaces or leaves them to far-flung small venues. On the other hand, the city's art spaces, relatively silent, are looking to expand their programs and turning to experimental new forms. Berlin's recent history of art and music has produced a pivotal moment for sound, but how can the shift in its possibilities be supported? What do art spaces consider when curating sound, and what might impede the idea?
