Là một phần của thỏa thuận tuyển dụng giữa CHDC Đức và Cộng hòa xã hội chủ nghĩa Việt Nam, khoảng 60.000 lao động hợp đồng Việt Nam đã di cư đến CHDC Đức vào những năm 1980. Dựa trên các tác phẩm của nghệ sĩ Sung Tieu được trưng bày trong triển lãm 1992, 2005, chuyến tham quan này xem xét những hậu quả đáng kể mà sự sụp đổ của CHDC Đức gây ra đối với cuộc sống của những cá nhân này. Những thay đổi về chính trị, xã hội cũng như cơ cấu phân biệt chủng tộc và phân biệt đối xử phổ biến vào thời điểm đó đã ảnh hưởng đến bản sắc, vai trò và mạng lưới xã hội của cộng đồng người Việt ở Đức và tiếp tục tồn tại cho đến ngày nay.
Vũ Vân Phạm là nhà văn hóa và diễn giả giáo dục. Vân đề cập đến cuộc sống của người (Đông) Đức gốc Việt dưới các hình thức như tác phẩm văn hóa và dự án tác phẩm ký ức. Ngoài những ưu tiên này, cô còn tập trung vào vấn đề phân biệt chủng tộc chống người châu Á.

As part of the recruitment agreement between the GDR and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, approximately 60,000 Vietnamese contract laborers migrated to the GDR in the 1980s. Drawing upon the works of artist Sung Tieu featured in the exhibition 1992, 2005, the tour examines the significant consequences the collapse of the GDR had on these individual’s lives. The political and social changes, as well as racist structures and discrimination prevalent at the time, influenced the identities, roles and social networks of the Vietnamese community in Germany and continue to persist into the day.
Vũ Vân Phạm is a cultural practitioner and educational facilitator. Vân reflects on Viet-(East)German lived experiences through cultural productions and projects centered on memory work. Alongside these focal points, she engages in unpacking anti-Asian racism.

Venue:
The event will take place in the exhibition rooms of KW (1st floor, 2nd floor). The exhibition rooms are accessible via stairs and an elevator. Please send us an e-mail in advance to reservation@kw-berlin.de so that we can reserve the elevator for you.
