Accessibility
Welcome to KW Institute for Contemporary Art!
KW is located in a former margarine factory in Auguststraße, Berlin-Mitte. The building, which is designed as a four-sided courtyard, is protected as a historic monument and therefore only partially accessible for visitors with limited mobility. The exhibitions are accessible via a goods lift.
The exhibition floors 1–4 as well as the ticket and cloakroom area are accessible via an elevator. The main hall of the KW can be reached via our basement level with the help of an electronic ramp. For legal reasons, this ramp cannot be operated independently. Our staff will be happy to assist you.
We would like to make the visit as smooth and barrier-free as possible for all visitors. To plan your visit with us, please write an email a week in advance to your visit to: mediation@kw-berlin.de or contact our staff via telephone: +49 30 243459-132.
Spontaneous visits are also possible.
